My little Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather paper pad is dwindling, but it was good to use up some of the scraps in this card; I even did a bit of paper piecing on the toque and scarf. I like how this one turned out :) As usual, those YNS Christmas chickies crack me up!

Birthday "hi"!

Crafty friends are the best! Christina (of Christina Hor Designs) (she organizes the Cards for Little Hearts card drive!) recently gifted me the MFT balloon shaker die and it was very handy for this pint-sized card, for a pint-sized person :)

I also followed Christina's sponged sky background tutorial!

The card measures 3 1/2 x 6 3/8. The koala is from MFT Cuddly Koalas, the "BIRTHDAY" is from Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say, and I generated the rest of the sentiment on the computer. "1st!" are some leftover stickers from Michaels.

I started with the sketch from Your Next Stamp's challenge #86, but it got a bit lost along the way, haha. The colours are still there though!

Sweater weather!

Happy September! Up here in Canada, there is definitely a fall breeze about already.

I had fun using the inlaid die-cut technique on this card with the SSS coffee cup die. One thing I've learned – don't throw out any of those little die-cut pieces until the card is done! You never know if you may need it...

Hello! There's (still) 130 days until Christmas 😁

I quite like this Christmas card. I randomly stamped snowflakes to create a background, and used the YNS Christmas Chickies paired with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Winter Penguin. For some pizazz, I created a tiny wire coil behind the chickie, but it's a bit on the short side to be wobbling much.

White on white

This is my card #4 for the 2017 summer coffee lovers blog hop, which ties my previous personal record.

This is my first time to play at Addicted to CAS! This week's code word is "white on white", which speaks "summer" to me; I guess I'm thinking of wearing white in the summer? 😁

I covered the SSS falling hearts stencil with embossing paste, die-cut the window, and embossed a Cuttlebug small teacup on acetate to fill the space. Behind the window, I've clear embossed "thank you" six times (like this card).

I recently got the MFT rectangle peek-a-boo window die-namics and I may be slightly in love with it, as it's made an appearance in three out of my last four cards.

Coffee cup thank you

I am on a duo-card swing! After the night and day cards yesterday, today's theme is hot and cold:

The "warm tones" card is for the 2017 summer coffee lovers blog hop, but I thought it would be cool (heh) to contrast with a "cool tones" card. Not sure if the colours are coming through, but the "warm" card uses a patterned paper that gradates from red to orange to yellow, and the "cool" card goes from purple to blues.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say. The coffee cup is a digi from Blackberry Jelly's digital stamps. Thank you! Finished with glossy accents and the SSS falling hearts stencil.

Wow, the spring coffee lovers blog hop is going strong! So many inspirational cards + dedicated commenters leaving lovely comments + great hop prizes (+ coffee) = Winning combination :)

I found this cute flower-in-a-teacup Provo Craft mini embossing folder ("Feel Better") in my stash recently and thought it would be perfect for the spring hop. I used the YNS sketch and colours; the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say and then finished with a bit of cork ribbon as de facto cup coaster and glossy accents.


I hope card quality is not proportional to the amount of time spent on the card because this one came together relatively quickly for me.

Baby onesie shaker card

I needed to make a baby congrats card and thought I should fancy it up, which, in my mind, means to layer it up, so I attempted this beautifully layered Mojo Monday sketch:

Layering is always such a difficult decision for me and I have to admit I paired many combinations of the pattern paper together before deciding on this final version:

In retrospect, I wonder if, instead of the faded beige, I should have chosen a pink tone-on-tone buttons pattern paper for more baby motifs.

I am happy with the bow though! Followed the tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqLv4KCebMA using some sheer ribbon left over from my wedding invitations last year, which is serendipitous because the new dad was the best man at the wedding.

Almost forgot about the main attraction - the shaker onesie. Die-cut from Taylored Expressions' Little Bits - Onesie, and filled with red seed beads and some hearts / stars confetti Julee Tilman of Verve Stamps added to my package - thank you!

Meet... Beans

I stumbled across Christina Hor's Hug A Heart Card Drive and this is one of the cards I sent in earlier this week; it's scheduled to arrive right on the cut-off date, so I'm really hoping there are no weather delays en route.

Apparently, I don't have a lot of heart stamps, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I searched online and I found this super-duper cute digi from Jessa Feig (https://uselesstrinkets.wordpress.com).

Meet... Beans! I printed a sheet of him on marbled paper and then the heart again on red cardstock, which I covered with clear embossing for a bit of texture / shine. Oh, did I mention how cute he is?? I am sure this is not the last we've seen of him. In fact, I made another batch of cards with Beans, but I forgot to take a photo of them before rushing the cards to the post office...

Happy Sheep

Happy New Year! I resolve to make better cards this year, so please let me know how this card can be better :) First step is to follow along with more challenges and get inspired by different layouts and techniques.

A fun, new product for me is liquid applique! I had seen "snow" on a lot of Christmas cards and now I can create snow too <insert evil cackle>, but first... sheep:

It's great fun heating up the liquid applique and seeing it puff up! I can't stop running my hands over the "wool". And, I've already prepped extra wooly sheeps for future cards...

The sheep is from Hero Arts' Happy Day Animals (CL153), which must be a super-old stamp set because it's not sold at a lot of places. The sentiment is Lawn Fawn's So Much To Say, which I love for the variety of sentiments.

My layout, color, and general idea really, came from Your Next Stamp's sketch and color challenge #55. There are sheep in the inspiration photo!!

Winter penguin trifold shutter card

I'm new at this, so please be gentle! Hopefully over time, my cards and photography skills will get better :)

I think this is a fitting card for the inaugural entry. Cards with intricate folds have always fascinated me, and I am slowly adding stamping elements! Lawn Fawn's winter penguin stole my heart the first time I laid eyes on the little guy. Stamp, fold, and repeat!

The trifold shutter card looks complicated, but, trust me, it really isn't. I used these dimensions, but shrunk the card down to 5¼" in height so that it slides easier into an envelope. The resulting dimensions are 5¼" x 4".
